Lake Cincis is an artificial lake, created in 1964 when a dam was built on the Cerna river. Its purpose is to provide water for the Hunedoara Iron and Steel Plant. The lake is one of the deepest lakes in Transylvania – 48 meters deep. It is situated at a distance of 15 km of the city Hunedoara, Hunedoara county. The lake is populated with various species of fish and thus, fishing is the main tourist attraction from the area. Tourists can also swim in the lake or camp nearby. Around the lake there are many motels, boarding houses or villas that can accommodate a lot of tourists.
