Iovan Valley Lake was formed as a result of the construction of a dam on the river Cerna, before its confluence with the river Iovan. The lake is situated in Cerna Sat commune, Gorj county. It has a surface of 292 hectares and a volume of 124 millions cubic meters of water.

Iovan Valley Lake is included in The Domogled-Valea Cernei Natural Park and represents a relaxing place for tourists – there are many free time activities that can be practised in the region, such as fishing, camping, mountain hiking.
