The Corvinilor Castle was built in the 15th century by Ioan of Hunedoara, in Hunedoara county. It is a massive building, with many towers and bastions, built in Gothic style.

Beside the Castle`s Chapel there is a 30 meters fountain. According to the legend, the fountain was created by three Turkish prisoners to which freedom was promised if they would reach the water. After working for 15 years, the prisoners reached the water, but the master`s promise was not kept. It is said that the inscription on the fountain`s wall says: “you have water, but you have no heart”.

The Corvinilor Castle is one of the most important Gothic monuments from Romania. The visiting schedule is Tuesday to Sunday, between 9.00 – 17.00 and Monday between 12.00 – 17.00. The fee is between 20 – 30 lei/ person, depending on the season, 5 lei for students or children and 10 lei for retired persons.
