Ulmetul Castrum is located near Pantelimon village from Constanta county and dates from the Roman Age (2nd -6th centuries after Christ). The name Ulmetum comes from Latin, meaning “elm trees forest”. The Castrum was discovered by the famous archaeologist Vasile Parvan, in 1911. Inside the fortification was discovered the tomb of a German nobleman. It is a historic monument.
