“Saints Peter and Paul” Orthodox Cathedral from Constanta was built by king Carol the Ist and queen Elisabeth, being inaugurated in 1895. On August, 3rd, 1941, the Cathedral was bombed by the Soviets in the IInd World War and, as a result,  part of its altar and the Episcopal Palace were destroyed. It was restored after the bombing and is a historic monument today.
