The Drobeta Archaeological Complex, from Drobeta Turnu Severin, Mehedinti county is formed by the Roman Castrum, built between 103 – 105 a. Ch. by the Emperor Trajan to defend the bridge over the Danube, the ruins of Trajan`s Bridge, created by the architect Apollodorus of Damascus, the ruins of the Roman thermae and the ruins of the medieval fortress probably built in 1335. The Roman thermae are considered the largest thermae from the Roman Oltenia region.
