The Glogoveanu Fortified House from Glogova commune, Gorj county, is a fortified construction of ”kula” type, which was built between the 17th – 18th centuries, by the Glogoveanu family. The ”Kula” is formed by the ground floor and the first floor. Its walls are very thick, between 1,40 – 1,45 meters. The building has many remparts, which gave the possibility to the people who lived in the house to shoot in case of an attack. The ”Kula” also has a church near it.
It is not open to the public, being used only for protocol. The Glogoveanu Fortified House is a historic monument.
