Cozia Monastery is situated in Calimanesti, Valcea county, on the banks of the river Olt. It is a medieval monastery, built by the Valachian ruler Mircea cel Batran and inaugurated in 1388. Across time, this Monastery was a source of Romanian culture because it hosted an important school. The Monastery is dedicated to the ”Holy Trinity” and its interior mural paining, which has a great artistic value was created between 1390 – 1391. It is a historic monument.
