The “Nicolae Balcescu” Memorial Museum is situated in Balceasca Valley, Nicolae Balcescu commune, Valcea county. The museum exhibits cultural objects specific to 1848: furniture, decorative art, paintings, a precious archive, all reminding of the great historian and politician Nicolae Balcescu.

The Mansion where the museum functions has 11 rooms and the permanent exhibition is organized in two parts – one part dedicated to the Balcescu family and the other dedicated to Nicolae Balcescu.

The museum is open between 8,00 – 16,00 (November – March), 8,00 – 20,00 (May – September) and 8,00 – 18,00 (April and October).
