Negovanu lake, situated in the Gatul Berbecului Gorges, is located in Sadu village, Sibiu county. It is an artificial lake, created in 1956, when the dam was built. The lake was formed on the superior course of the river Sadu and has a surface of 72 hectares. The water of the dam is used by the Sadu V hydroelectric power plant to produce electric energy. Gatul Berbecului Dam is the only bent dam from Romania and it`s the 5th highest dam from the country.

The access to the Negovanu lake can be done from the communal road in Talmaciu, across the river Sadu, but the most beautiful landscape can be seen from the tourist trail between Batrana Peak  and Gatul Berbecului. A few cabins were build near the lake, therefore, tourists can stay there over night.
