The Evangelic Church from Cisnadie, Sibiu county, is dedicated to Saint Walpurga and was built in the 13th century. The Church was surrounded by a fortress with big towers, bastions and water ditches. In the western part of the fortress was built, in a separated tower, a round chapel. The Turkish attack from 1493 mobilized the community to strengthen the fortress by building more towers and bastions, but most of them deteriorated with the ages. In 1795 the Church was struck by lightning, thus it needed restoration again.
