Peles Castle is an arhitectural monument located in Sinaia, in Prahova county. The castle was built by the first king of Romania, Carol I. The construction of the castle started in 1873 and it was finished in 1914. Peles Castle was the summer residence of the kings of Romania, today, it is also a museum.
Peles Castle has a huge historical and cultural importance, being one of the greatest monuments of this kind in Europe, which was built during the second part of the 19th century.
The castle has 160 rooms, plus other two important buildings: Pelisor Castle and The Pavilion. Tourists can also visit in Peles Castle some important historical rooms, like: The Honour Hall, The Regal Library, Weapons Rooms, Musical Chamber, Fiorentina Room, Moorish Chamber, Theatre Chamber, Concert Hall, The Imperial Apartment.
