Germisara Roman Castrum is also known as the Roman Castrum from Cigmau. It was a castrum surrounded by a civil settlement, located south of Cigmau village, Hunedoara county. The archaeological site from Cigmau – ”The Giant Fortress” is situated on Turiac plateau, the first terrace of the river Mures. The research began in 2000 and revealed various Roman artifacts (during the time of emperors Marcus Antonius, Nerva or Trajan).
