Istrita Hill (749 meters at its highest peak) from Buzau county is formed by a central large body prolonged to the west. It is mostly made by gritstones and limestones, which are resistant to erosion. Here, tourists can visit the local resort Sarata-Monterou and a few historic sights from Pietroasele-Naeni area, such as the Prehistoric Caves.
