Geoagiu Bai Resort is a spa situated in Hunedoara county, Romania, at an altitude of 350 meters, between Geoagiu and Mures rivers. In the Roman period, the spa was known under the name of „Thermae Germisara“ or „Germisara cum thermis“. Among the most important resort sights are: Thermal Waters from Geoagiu Bai, Roman Catrum from Germisara, The Roman Road, Roman Thermae and The Round Church. This resort has also a very beautiful waterfall, which is little known by the tourists. Its name is Clocota Waterfall, where tourists can admire a fairy tale like place. In 2008, Geoagiu Bai Resort received the distinction of ”tourist resort of national importance” from the Romanian government.
Together with Baile Felix and Herculane, Geoagiu Bai Resort is one of the oldest spas in Romania. The healing properties of its mineral waters are known from Dacian times. Its thermal waters are recommended by the doctors to heal various internal illnesses (for example, gastritis, anemia, allergies) as well as external ones (like, movement disorders, gynecologic affections or nervous system affections).
