Mera Monastery is located in Mera commune from Vrancea county. It is a historic monument and is considered the most important historical and architectural edifice from Vrancea county. The Monastery dates from the 17th century. Its old form was built by Boyar Motoc. In 1717, the ensemble from Mera was transformed in a fortress for protection against the Habsburgs. During the fights with the Habsburgs the surrounding wall of the monastery was destroyed and its church was set on fire. Between 1717 – 1739, the royal cellar was built which still exists in the present and the protection wall was restored.

It is dedicated to ”Saint Emperors Constantin and Helen”.
